1. Gargle with salt-water.
One of my most preferred solution for cold.
Just bring a glass of water to boil, add a pinch of salt to it. Once it gets lukewarm, pour it in a glass and gargle with it.
It really helps to soothe a sore throat.
2. Switch to Lukewarm water.
Avoid drinking normal water during cold, rather drink lukewarm water to get rid of cold as it increases the body temperature.
Also, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
3. Sip masala tea.
Add cloves, cardamom, basil leaves and black pepper along with ginger to your tea.
These ingredients help to fight common cold and make you feel better.
4. Have some hot chocolate.
You can melt some chocolate by double boiler method or you can also have a hot Choco lava cake.
Theobromine present in cocoa, treats the symptoms of common cold and it also boost your immune system.
5. Make a tea with garlic.
Boil 3-4 cloves of garlic with water. Once boiled, add 2tbsp. of honey and 2tbsp. of lemon juice to it. Strain it and then drink it.
Alternatively, you can also chew raw garlic.
Garlic has medicinal properties that opens up the respiratory passage and helps to treat cold.
6. Ginger and honey juice.
Grate a chunk of ginger to squeeze out the juice of it. To this juice, add equal amount of honey and drink this mixture.
Ginger helps to clear congestion in nasal passage while honey is equally effective in bringing relief from cold due to its antiviral properties.
7. Cinnamon and honey.
Known as the powerful immune booster, it is the most effective remedy for cold as it cures it within 2-3days.
Before you sleep, prepare this drink:
Put 2 barks of cinnamon in water and let it boil, then remove the barks from the water and add 1tbsp. of honey to it.
Drink this mixture of cinnamon and honey and sleep. It will provide you a sound sleep.
